Process Note for OS and Application installation
· Create 2 partitions (C – Drive capacity 80% and D – Drive capacity 20% of total HDD Capacity) in the HDD.
· Format Partition in FAT32
· Install Win XP Professional.
· Make sure that SP2 for Windows XP Professional is installed.
· Every machine must be updated with the latest patches from Windows update.
· Remove all users from Windows other than Administrator. Make sure there is no other user.
· Disable guest account
· Set Administrative password to password (please be careful while entering the password).
· Enable Remote Desktop in windows as follows :
1. Right click on My Computer
2. Click on Properties
3. Click on Remote Tab
4. Click on the check box on the “Allow users to connect remotely to this computer” under Remote Desktop
· From control Panel open “Power Option” and make sure that
1. Power scheme is set to “Always On”.
2. Turn off monitor is set to “Never”.
3. Turn off hard disk is set to “Never”.
4. System Standby is set to “Never”.
· Set the Screen Saver to “None”
· Set the Screen Resolution at 800 x 600 pixels.
· Turn off the firewall of Windows.
· Install the antivirus software and update with latest virus definition.
· Install Real VNC. (So that client machines could be accessed to take control of the client machine. Set password as password). Proceed with normal installation.
· Make sure DirectX 9.0 is installed in the machine (Generally installed automatically by Win XP with SP2).
· Install .Net Framework 1.1
· Install Service Pack for .Net Framework 1.1
· Install .Net Framework 2.0
· Installing CM Node Server. Install it in only one machine (Please note that in each site, one machine needs to be installed with both Ryarc NodeServer as well as Ryarc Client Player 1.5 In rest of the machine install only Ryarc Client Player 1.5).
1. Double Click on CampaignManager NodeServer.msi (Do not use setup.exe)
2. Click Next
3. Click on I agree and Next
4. Select Every One
5. Click Next
6. Close
· Installing Ryarc Client Player 1.5
1. Double Click on RC Setup.msi (Do not use setup.exe)
2. Click Next
3. Click on I agree and Next
4. Select Every One
5. Click Next
6. Close
· Put Windows Automatic Update option on.
· Put Antivirus Automatic Update option on.
· In the second partition (20%) copy the installation files of Windows XP, Antivirus, Real VNC, .Net Framework 1.1, Service pack for .Net Framework 1.1, .Net Framework 2.0, Ryarc Client Player 1.5.
Configuring the CM NodeServer
· Click on Start – Programs – Ryarc Media System – CM NodeServer Configuration.
a) Set “Files become ready for deletion (hours)” to 72
b) Select the check box in “Use Neptune Reporting Service” and type in (to avoid error in typing select, copy and paste) http://202.56.122.35/neptunews/acceptlog.asmx
c) Unselect (if selected) “Use a proxy server”
d) Select the check box in “Record NodeServer Events and Errors”
e) Start NodeServer by clicking “Start” button.
f) Click “OK” at the bottom.
Configuring the Ryarc Client Player
· Click on Start – Programs – Ryarc Media System – CM Player Configuration.
· Click on "File" – "Open a Channel Subscription File" – select the RDDXML file (which will be sent to the field engineers separately.
In the next section different tabs on the CM Player Configuration are described.
"GENERAL"
a) Select the check box on "Disable ScreenSaver (Recommended)". - By default this option is selected, make sure it is selected.
b) Select the check box on "Start Autometically on System Boot". - By default this option is selected, make sure it is selected.
c) Increase the value of "CM Service call interval (seconds):" from default 60 to 600.
d) Select the check box on "Enable ProcessMonitor". - By default this option is selected, make sure it is selected.
e) Select the check box on "Disable Browser Scripting (Recommended). - By default this option is selected, make sure it is selected.
f) Select the radio button on "Use NodeServer" under "Connection Settings".
g) Type in the IP address of Node Server (Details of the IP addressing scheme of each store will be sent to the field engineers.)
"DISPLAY SETTINGS"
No need to change anything unless specific instructions are given.
"TELEVISION/VIDEO SETTINGS"
No need to change anything unless specific instructions are given.
"REBOOT AND RECOVERY"
a) Select the check box on “Allow PC Reboot”.
b) Select “Always” radio button under “Enable Windows Auto Logon”.
c) Type in the "User name" – Administrator (This is the username of the machine set earlier in Windows).
d) Type in the "Password" – password (This is the password for Administration of the machine set earlier in Windows).
"LOG"
g) Select the check box in “Record what has been displayed (Play Log)”.
h) Select the radio button in “Cumulative Logging”.
i) Unselect (if selected) the checkbox “Record application events and errors”.
j) Select the checkbox in “Use reporting web services for log post back”.
k) Type in (to avoid error in typing select, copy and paste) http://202.56.122.35/neptunews/acceptlog.asmx
l) Copy and paste the above link in internet explorer. It should give you a message – “The following operations are supported. For a formal definition, please review the Service Description. AcceptLog”.
"DIAGNOSTIC"
Click on “Run Diagnostic”. It should run successfully (a message will appear on completion of the diagnostics). Please make sure the time difference with the server should not be more than 10 seconds. If it is more than 10 seconds please adjust the time as well as the time zone (should be GMT + 05:30 Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi) from the date and time settings of Windows.
